The Story:

Michael Muscat's father, Joe, came to Australia in the 1950s from Malta at the age of 16. A few years later, Joe purchased his first farm at Kellyville in NSW and began his own market garden.

The years following saw Joe's younger brothers join Joe, and they farmed together, expanding their production and moving to bigger farms in the Hawkesbury region of NSW. This was the beginning of a now second-generation farming family.

Michael and his two other brothers worked the farm with their father in the 1980s.

Turf farming operations began after Michael and his brothers set out looking for a more sustainable farming crop, and in the early 1990s, turf production began while the boys continued to grow vegetable crops.

Very quickly, the Muscat's grew more and more turf, and eventually ceased growing vegetables in favour of their turf crops. And so began Green Line Turf.

Michael continued searching, building and engineering new innovative ways to do things better on the turf farm for highest quality and best efficiency.

This way of thinking rose Green Line Turf as a highly respected name in the turf growing and supply industry. They prided themselves on not being the biggest, but having the highest quality product and service.

As Michael's and his brothers' sons grew, they took a keen interest in the farm, so the men began planning out the company's future. They created separate companies that allowed each of their sons to grow their passion and be a part of their own family business.

In 2008, Michael and his wife, Alexandria, began Green Life Turf and built their business with over 20 years of farming knowledge, challenges and success. Michael and Alexandria's three sons, Patrick, Justin and Joshua, also work in the Green Life Turf business, continuing on with the family passion and pride of what they do.

Now, with 200 acres of turf production across the Hawkesbury region, and together with their seven full-time staff, we pride ourselves on being a highly respected, award-winning Australian, family-owned business that offers the highest in service and quality.

We invest in state of the art equipment, ensuring the highest level of safety for our staff, and the highest level of quality turf for our customers. 

In 2015, Green Life Turf proudly became part of a newly established group, Lawn Solutions Australia, made up of 40 of the very best turf growers across Australia, focussed on global and national research and development for the highest standards in turf quality, production and service.

Selling over 350,000m2 of Sir Walter DNA Certified Buffalo each year requires careful planning and investment to meet Aussie demand! Our latest investment is a 400 acre property in the Hunter region both ensures we grow enough turf to supply to the growing demand, as well as delivers diversity in growing conditions ensuring quality is at its highest standard all year round.

We also continue to dedicate more land to new varieties of turf that have been through rigorous testing for suitability to the Australian environment.

We continue to plan for the future of our staff, our business, our industry and of course our good old Aussie lawns. We will ensure Green Life Turf's respected name and reputation continues to hold strong. It's our passion for what we love doing that makes us unique.
