Restoring your lawn from compaction
High traffic areas such as around the clothes line often suffer from 'lawn compaction' learn ways to restore your lawn.
- Lawn compaction is a common problem and can be due to wear and tear and heavy traffic.
- 00:19-00:34 To test if you have a compacted lawn, simply push a screw driver into the ground. In a good Sir Walter lawn, the screw driver should easily go down halfway more. If they did not, chances are your lawn is compacted.
- You can break your compacted lawn by using a garden fork or powered machines. You can also apply gypsum to compacted lawn at a rate of 1 kilo per sq. meter.
