The secret to developing a hardy, drought resistant lawn is all in the way you manage your watering.

1. Water your lawn as soon as you've got it laid down. If you've got a lot of area to cover, don’t wait until you finish laying it all down, start watering as soon as you've got a few meters down - this is important because the first hour under the sun is critical.
2. 00:25-00:32 Make sure you meticulously, thoroughly soak each sq. meter before moving on to the next section.
3. 00:37-00:46 To test if the turf is established, try to lift the corner of the turf, if it holds well, it is established. If it comes away in your hand, it needs more time.
4. 00:52–0:57 It takes 1-8 weeks (depending on time of the year and local condition) before the turf is established and be ready for mowing.
5. The amount of water your lawn will need will depend on local condition. A good tip is to leave a towel out on the lawn for the first few days. When the towel dries out, your lawn will immediately need more water -it’s critical in the first few days.
6. It’s important that your lawn receives watering and is prevented from drying out for the first six week or at least after it has been mowed twice.
7. If your lawn becomes patchy 4-6 weeks after installation, it is due to extreme weather or lack of correct watering during early establishment. There’s not a lot you can do but to give it time and it will get back to normal.
8. 01:57–02:13 In most parts of Australia, lawn hardly needs watering. But in sandy locations such as Western Australia, weekly watering will be required.
9. Always comply and check with local water restrictions or better yet, install a rain tank.
