There’s no doubt about it, winter brings problems for even the most beautiful lawns. You want your yard to show off the beautiful lush, green lawns of summer, but the cold weather combined with shorter daylight hours means your warm-season grass will go dormant in winter and begin to lose its colour.
The problem doesn’t end there. As your grass turns shades lighter, it attracts less sunlight and soil temperatures continue to decline, further contributing to your lawn’s state of hibernation.
But while your lawn will naturally take on a shade of brown - and the colder your climate, the more colour it will lose - and its growth will slow down, that doesn’t mean your lawn needs to look patchy and be unhealthy. In fact, it doesn’t even mean you have to live with brown lawn in winter!
Here are our tips to creating the healthiest and best looking lawns to be the envy of all your neighbours!
