So to celebrate our impending day (Father's Day 4 September 2016), we thought we’d change things up and put together a list of things dads really want for Father’s Day - you know, just to help out a little (or in case our own families are reading...).

There’s a lot to love about Spring: warmer weather, sweet smells in the air, new and rejuvenated life, outdoor living and entertaining. It all begins again in Spring and that’s why now is the perfect time to take a moment to think about your lawn. Think back to last warm season: were you delighted with your lawn? Or do you think it might be time to consider laying new turf?

Today we talk about some reasons to and advantages of getting new turf laid if your lawn hasn’t been up to scratch:

It's not just winter that causes lawns to look depressed...

As we approach the peak of winter you’re probably noticing your lawn isn’t looking as lush as it did in warmer months. It’s browner. It’s patchier. It’s just not inviting any more. (If you want to know why, read our blog "Why Winter is a Problem for Lawns - and What You Can Do About It".)

But the truth is this: it’s not just winter that causes lawns to look depressed - and usually that means that your lawn isn’t in its peak condition. Just like taking care of any living thing, your lawn is probably asking you for help. Let's get to know your lawn and what it could be asking you for using some common lawn problems.

Sydney and many other parts of the country saw an abundance of rain a week or so back leaving our lawns drenched and over watered. It was no exception on our Green Life Turf farm where our team were up at dawn’s crack to start dealing with the problem.

The last few weeks of (mostly) sunshine should have dried most lawns out a little by now, but we may be in for more rain and as the sun continues to get weaker and weaker, our lawns are in for another brutal cold season. With predictions of a lot more rainfall to come this winter, there won’t be many opportunities to do much about it.
